A free one day regional conference to promote
Yorkshire and the Humber as a region of safety and sanctuary

This free conference aims to effect real change by inspiring people working with refugees to develop new ideas, coalitions and partnerships across the region.
It will also help develop the idea of a Region of Sanctuary, which is beginning to gain a groundswell of support throughout the migration and refugee sectors in Yorkshire and the Humber.
Speakers and workshop leaders will include:
Inderjit Bhogal, founder of the City of Sanctuary Movement
Jonathan Ellis, Director of Policy, The Refugee Council
Will Sutcliffe, Co-ordinator, Bradford City of Sanctuary
Dr Hannah Lewis, Independent Researcher and author
Jim Steinke, Chief Executive, Northern Refugee Centre
David Brown, Integration Manager, Yorkshire Migration Partnership
David Ndiwanyu, CEO/Founder, The NILE African Development Organisation
Craig Barnett, National Coordinator, City of Sanctuary
Each delegate may choose up to 2 workshops from:
1. Regional Integration Strategies
2. Destitution and how to tackle it
3. Engaging RCOs
4. Becoming up a Town or City of Sanctuary
5. Engaging with Local Authorities
6. Right to Work Campaign
The conference has been organised by Northern Refugee Centre and City of Sanctuary and is funded by Local Government Yorkshire and The Humber, YoHr Space and Capacitybuilders.
