Participatory Budgeting Conference
Venue: The Source, Sheffield
Participatory Budgeting, where residents vote directly on spending decisions in their local areas, is becoming increasingly well established, with over 70 pilot initiatives nationally.
The day is for people either already engaged in delivering PB in the Yorkshire/Humber Region, or who are interested in developing PB initiatives, can meet, network, and share best practice.
The day will be hosted by Sheffield City Council and include:
World Premiere of the latest PB DVD, co-produced by the PB Unit and LGYH, which showcases Regional PB activity, as well as including some top training tips!
Panel discussion with some of the stars of the DVD
‘Open space’ workshop session – an opportunity to share experience, ideas and questions with others around PB strategy and practice themes of your choosing
Regional mapping of PB activities – what’s going on and where is it happening?
In the spirit of participation, this event will be interactive: we will be asking you to share your experience and learning with others and to shape the focus of future community of practice sessions.
